Best Japan Tours, a division of International Travel Consultants, Inc. was founded by Mr. Yoshi Ogawa out of his 25 years experience in the travel industry. The continued growing interest in Japanese culture experience tours has led to the creation of this website and tour program. Our program is designed not as a sightseeing tour, but as a once in a lifetime experience not offered by any other tour company.
Sand Lake Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska (one of the nation's premiere Japanese immersion schools) asked Mr. Ogawa to help with the schools 'Sister City School Exchange' each summer. As a native of Japan and following his immigration to the United States during college, Mr Ogawa was able to communicate the splendor and excitement of his home land to the children and parents that traveled with him over the last ten years from Anchorage to Japan. That experience proved to be so popular that Mr. Ogawa brought a side-by-side tour of Japan for families not directly related to the Sister City School program. One of their largest groups was a group of over 80 people in one summer.
After reviewing each tour upon completion, it became clear that the families benefitted so much from the bonding that occured when the parent accompanied their child abroad. Mr. Ogawa realized that with the right guides at the right venues with the right size group, many more families could experience this wonderful trip as well. Overwhelming response to our program from Alaska and the lower 48 showed Mr. Ogawa that he created a unique progam that people were looking for but unable to obtain by other tour companies.
Mr. Ogawa worked for coordinating tour guides and venues to perfect his final product, The Japan Family Cultural Immersion Tour.
The tour incorporates the best of Japan to show how a vibrant exciting culture has incorporated old and new to create one of the richest societies in the world. From the Ryokan visit, a traditional Japanese inn and bath, to the bustle of Tokyo's subway system tour, the family tour learns the tradition of respect and courtesy that is the hallmark of Japan's society. The attention to detail and cooperation of the society to maintain a clean and orderly life and country is awe inspiring.
